On November 6, 2026, The Verge reported that Alexa for Shopping can take a text message and a photo, recommend matching Amazon listings, and order on the user's behalf. Cashfree lets AI agents read its hosted checkout (opens the source in a new tab)

On November 6, 2026, Cashfree launched Checkout for Agents. WebMCP lets an AI agent read order details and available payment methods without reading the page HTML. Cashfree said it covers every merchant on hosted checkout, with no integration change. The customer still reviews the final order and authenticates payment. Agents cannot enter card details through WebMCP, and a UPI PIN stays in the customer's app. Co-founder Reeju Datta said agents are less than 1% of checkout sessions. Cashfree said this could cut token use by more than 40%, and it did not publish details of that test.

Sardine launches Know Your Human for agent checkout (opens the source in a new tab)

On November 6, 2026, The Paypers said Sardine launched Know Your Human (KYH) and is seeking design partners (https://thepaypers.com/fraud-and-fincrime/news/sardine-launches-know-your-human-protocol-for-agentic-commerce). Headers pass a device ID, fingerprint, and IP, with email, phone, and KYC in extended cases. Sardine says this targets false declines when a cloud browser looks like a bot. The agent binds the device with Sardine's SDK or a merchant Method URL. A texted link expires after five minutes and can be opened up to three times. KYH complements existing agentic commerce protocols.

Visa launches a benchmark of AI shopping tasks (opens the source in a new tab)

On November 5, 2026, Visa launched the Visa Agentic Commerce Benchmark. 22 AI models from 12 labs took 15 shopping challenges, such as a TV, a laptop, or a personal care appliance. They passed 57.2% of runs and failed 42.8%. The best passed 82.2% and the worst 28.9%. A model must uncover the shopper's needs in conversation and should not buy if nothing fits. All three attempts passed 34.2% of the time, and about 54% of failed runs still ended in a purchase. Amazon opens a free Shop Direct signup for outside stores (opens the source in a new tab)

On November 4, 2026, Amazon opened the Shop Direct Merchant Workspace, a free portal where an eligible merchant can register, verify its site, and submit a catalog. U.S. shoppers can see those products in Amazon search and in Alexa for Shopping. The Shop Direct button says they are leaving Amazon and sends them to the merchant to buy. On eligible products, Amazon's Buy for Me can finish the purchase on the merchant's site after the shopper confirms on Amazon. There is no fee, and the merchant keeps pricing, inventory, and delivery. This does not let an outside agent check out on Amazon.

The Paypers reported, citing the Financial Times, that Citi does not allow a third-party AI agent to log into a customer's account or make a transaction in Citi's digital banking. Customers can still share limited read-only account data with some open-banking providers. The same report said Bank of America is limiting AI agents' access to consumer deposits while it decides who is liable for a payment an agent authorizes.

  45. Skyfire and Forter check agent identity at checkout (opens the source in a new tab)

Skyfire and Forter said Forter now uses Skyfire's Know Your Agent (KYA) identity when it decides whether an agent purchase is trusted. The checkout screen does not change. In a pilot, Jomashop raised its agent checkout success rate to nearly 100%, after bot tools had blocked much of that traffic, without a rise in chargebacks. Forter said agentic orders on its network are more than four times the August level.

Shoplazza said it is working with TikTok on agentic shopping. TikTok introduced Buy Direct on October 5, 2026, so a person can buy from a brand inside TikTok without going to an outside store. The Verge reported that Charles Schwab is blocking AI agents from client accounts. 49. Forter launches an Agentic Commerce Engine (opens the source in a new tab)

Forter said its Agentic Commerce Engine is available so a merchant can tell a trusted AI shopping agent from fraud. Fraud checks for agent traffic are on for existing Forter customers. A no-code option, Agentic Orchestration, lets the merchant run checkout built for agents. An AI Activity Dashboard shows which AI agents transact on the site. Forter said agentic orders on its network have more than quadrupled since August, and that automated fraud doubled in the past two months.

  50. JPMorgan blocks outside agents from customer accounts (opens the source in a new tab)

On JPMorgan Chase's October 13, 2026 earnings call, CEO Jamie Dimon said the bank will not let just any outside AI agent act on customer accounts. A spokeswoman told CNBC the bank blocks those agents from operating for retail customers, because logging in with the customer's own credentials is not safe. Open-banking connections can still share data such as a balance, but they cannot send money or pay a bill.

  52. Shopify shares compare-at prices with AI agents (opens the source in a new tab)

Shopify said it now shares a store's compare-at price with AI shopping agents through Shopify Catalog, so an agent can see when a product is marked down. Merchants control that sharing in the admin. The developer changelog says the Catalog API returns it as list_price in the Universal Commerce Protocol, and only when the merchant shares it, the compare-at price is higher than the selling price, and the store shows compare-at prices in the buyer's region (https://shopify.dev/changelog/posts/catalog-api-now-returns-compare-at-prices-as-list_price).
